Experience Required: Horseback Riding
3 days of this trip consist of a unique riding program where you'll be paired with a horse and ride across remote areas of the ranch and national park lands from one outpost cabin to the next. This portion of the trip includes up to 6 hours of horseback riding per day and therefore is not suitable for complete beginners. Participants must have prior riding experience and be comfortable and confident riding for extended periods. Technical experience (jumping, galloping, etc) is not required.
Activity Level: High
This is an active, on-the-go trip with some built in down time to relax in the evenings/during your free day. In addition to the horseback riding, there are 2 hiking portions built into this itinerary: the Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion and the Laguna De Los Tres Guided Hike. Each hike varies in mileage and difficulty, with the Laguna De Los Tres hike being close to 14 miles round trip and 3,000 ft of elevation gain (considered "Hard" on AllTrail), while the Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion is a leisurely stroll on about 3 miles of walking paths facing the glacier.
This trip includes shared accommodations throughout and does not offer a single room option. At the estancia lodge (main ranch house) and hotels, rooms are double occupancy. During the backcountry portion of the trip, you’ll stay in a remote cabin outpost where you’ll sleep in bunk beds in a shared room with up to 10 people (your group of 8 and up to 2 guides).
Please note: the cabin outpost is rustic and off-grid, offering a unique and immersive Patagonian experience. While the cabin does have a flushing toilet, a shower, and clean drinking water, it does not have electricity, cell phone service, or Wi-Fi — making it the perfect chance to truly unplug and connect with the wild surroundings.
